
Most Russian companies improved their positions in the latest rating by Energy Intelligence of the world’s 50 biggest oil and gas corporations, Vedomosti reports. The rankings, published Monday, are based on oil and gas reserves, extraction, sales and refining capacity.
Gazprom entered Energy Intelligence’s top 10 for the first time, moving up two spots from No. 12. Lukoil rose four places, to 13th from 17th. Surgutneftegaz went to 26th from 28th, THK-BP to 32nd from 34th and Novatek to 41st from 44th.
Rosneft fell three places, to 13th from 16th.
According to Energy Intelligence, the top 10 companies are Saudi Aramco, NIOC (Iran), Exxon Mobil, PDV of Venezuela, China’s SNPC, BP, Royal Dutch Shell, Сhevron, Total and Gazprom.
